Silver filigree, a traditional craft of Akita Prefecture. It is a work of Yadome Engraving Atelier.
It is produced by twisting 0.2mm silver wire.
Silver filigree work has been actively practiced since the Akita domain in the Edo period, but now there are only a handful of craftspeople in Akita city.
In the midst of this, two women aspiring to become craftswomen appeared. And this atelier was launched in 2019 by three woman, bringing a new breeze to silver filigree.
In addition to necklaces, earrings, ear cuffs, and rings designed with a young sensation, there are even a variety of playful creations shaping Akita's specialties such as Iburigakko (smoked radish pickles ) and Akita rice.
Their coming works in the future are drawing attention.
